Item 606: The Safrona Ager Sampler, Donated by a friend of the Harrisville Children’s Center; Previously owned and framed by Indian King Framery; Wood frame has some scratches and no glass; From the Textile Collections of the Henry Ford Museum. The piece is a simple marking sampler used to record the members of the Ager family. Research has shown that Safrona’s sister, Amelia Ager, was admitted into the Shaker Society at Shirley, MA on January 11, 1814. The Ager sample was found in the Shirley area. The piece is worked on natural linen in ten muted hues of antique mauve, blue green, browns, greens, greys, rust and tans. Approximate size of sampler is 7x10” (this does not include frame).
